Why Sedgesun? The "seagrass" in our baskets is cói, a sedge grown in the brackish coastal fields of Kim Sơn, Ninh Bình. It is cut, split and dried in the sun before it is woven.

I visit the workshops myself and check sizes and moisture before goods are packed. Sedgesun is a trading company: we buy from partner workshops in Vietnam's weaving villages, consolidate your order and handle the paperwork with you directly. One contact, one invoice, one shipment.

Visit us. If you are in Vietnam, I will take you to the workshops in Ninh Bình, about two hours from Hanoi. If not, book a 15-minute video call and I will walk you round a workshop on my phone.
Sedgesun is being set up as a trading company in Vietnam and registration is in progress. We ask for no deposit until the registration is issued and the bank account is in the company's name; until then you only pay for samples. Your pro forma invoice will show the legal name, tax code and bank details, and you can confirm them with us on a video call before you pay.
Seven launch designs
Chosen for steady demand in UK and EU retail, and because they nest or fold flat to keep freight down. Prices are quoted on request while samples are finalised. Add designs to your sample request as you go. All designs: 35–45 days production; MOQ and FOB price confirmed at sampling.

How we work
Payment is tied to inspection. You see the report before you pay the balance.

Tell us what you need
Product codes or a photo of something you already buy, with quantities and your destination port.

Get a quote
FOB Hai Phong, or CIF Rotterdam, Hamburg or Felixstowe, in euros. Designs from several workshops can share one LCL shipment. Packing details come with each quote.

Approve samples
Sample cost and courier are quoted before anything is sent, and the sample cost is credited against your first order. Production starts only after you approve the samples.

Production and inspection
30% deposit starts production. Before loading we send an inspection report with photos, measurements and moisture readings.

Shipping and balance
You pay the remaining 70% by bank transfer in euros against a copy of the bill of lading, after you have the inspection report.
Quality and mould
Mould is the main risk with natural fibres. We measure, record and put a guarantee behind it.

Written guarantee
If goods arrive with mould, we credit or replace them.
Tell us within 45 days of receipt and send photos and moisture readings. We issue a credit note or replace the affected goods, up to the value of those goods.

Planning spring orders
Tết (Lunar New Year) falls on 6 February 2027 and workshops slow down from late January. Orders confirmed by the end of November, with samples approved and deposit paid, can ship before the break. Later orders ship from March.
